Bill & Maggie UPDATE: Our First Production Weekend!
|Good tidings all around, everyone. For we have completed our first shooting weekend for the Principal Photography on my short film, “Bill & Maggie’s Intergalactic Taxi Service.”
It was a grueling three days, and we ran into a few major set-backs due to some horrifically cold weather, but we managed to get some good shots and got a lot accomplished in a very short amount of time.
Both our sets, our props, and our costumes were started and completed within two weeks; which is an unbelievably astounding achievement by my very talented and dedicated crew. My Production Designer, Leiston Gaddis, is by far one of the strongest willed individuals I have ever met, and she will not hesitate to put everything she has into a project, even if she is working on a volunteer basis, which she was.
Also, if I didn’t explain this before, this is a student project. I’m completing my Senior year at SCAD this year, and this project is actually my Senior Thesis. Which is why both my entire crew and my cast joined the project on an entirely volunteer basis. But despite that, everyone put their best efforts forward. And I would never expect anything less from these guys. They have all been utterly amazing. This is the first time I’ve ever worked with a full cast and crew on any movie I’ve ever made, and it has been an interesting and unique experience to say the least.
Below you can check out some more production photos from our first weekend. And you can also check out our slightly updated campaign video for Kickstarter, featuring some of these same images.
If you find this project of any interest at all, I encourage each and every one of you to link to our campaign and spread it around as much as you can. Because we need all of the help and support we can get in order to make this film a success. I could not be more excited to be making this film.
